SAY NO TO EXTREMISM!!! BE HUMAN

On December 14, it was reported by Ziad Fadel of Syrian Perspective that death squads operating in Syria had once again committed a massacre against civilians, this time in a town known as Adra. Fadel claimed that Christians, Druze, and Alawites had been specifically targeted and that many had been killed by being burned alive in bakery ovens.

Target-SyriaOn December 16, RT confirmed Syrian Perspective’s reports both of the massacre by the death squads, as well as the gruesome methods used to kill some of the victims.

At this time, it is being reported that at least 80 civilians have been executed by death squad forces currently occupying Adraa, a town located northwest of Damascus. Like the Maaloula nuns, many other civilians have been kidnapped in order to be held for ransom or as human shields.

RT Arabic correspondent Abultaleb Albohaya, reporting on the ground in Syria, stated,

“These Programs Were Never About Terrorism: They’re About Economic Spying, Social Control, and Diplomatic Manipulation. They’re About Power”

I thought I would just add this to the conversation.

“The Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline” …..

This issue involves the entire planet.

Dr. Rex's avatarIt Is What It Is

Image

The Keystone Pipeline System is a pipeline system to transport synthetic crude oil from the oil sands of Alberta, Canada, and crude oil from the northern United States, “primarily to refineries in the Gulf Coast” of Texas

The products to be shipped include synthetic crude oil (syncrude) and diluted bitumen (dilbit) from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in Alberta, Canada, and Bakken synthetic crude oil and light crude oil produced from the Williston Basin (Bakken) region in Montana and North Dakota.

Two phases of the project are in operation, a third, from Oklahoma to the Texas Gulf coast, is under construction, and the fourth is awaiting U.S. government approval as of September 2013. Upon completion, the Keystone Pipeline System would consist of the completed 2,151-mile (3,462 km) Keystone Pipeline (Phases I and II) and the proposed 1,661-mile (2,673 km) Keystone…

If Ruth Bader Ginsburg Is Replaced By A Republican, Here Is What Happens To The Law

kstreet607's avatarThe Fifth Column

It doesn’t look good if The Court is packed with a Conservative majority

Think Progress

At a forum in Reston, Virginia on Tuesday, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg threw her most recent bucket of cold water on Courtwatchers urging her to retire while President Obama is still in the White House. A justice should remain “as long as she can do the job full steam,” according to Ginsburg. “At my age, you take it year by year. I’m OK this year.”

Ginsburg also cited Justices William Brennan and Thurgood Marshall, both liberal justices who retired under President George H.W. Bush. Yet, while Bush’s selection of the moderately liberal Justice David Souter to replace Brennan only moved the Court marginally to the right, his decision to replace America’s most significant civil rights attorney with the staunchly conservative Justice Clarence Thomas may be the most consequential Supreme Court appointment since…

Good News

Hello everyone, I am sorry I have not been here as much as usual. I was on a day trip yesterday. But the news is that I am getting ready to go to my sister’s graduation. She used to work for a architect and she designed jewelry stores in malls around the country. She also fixed their computer server one day and IT Manager was added to her job description. In spite of having two strokes in 2008 she worked hard regaining all of the abilities. She had lost her speech and movement on the left side. She reevaluated her life and decided she wanted to do something else.  So she decided to go back to school. She got an Associate’s Degree in Computer Networking Systems and today she graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Security. The first degree she had a 4.0 and for  the security degree she has a  3.99 and I am really proud of her. This past February she had another stroke and it affected her speech so she was in speech therapy, and off work for three months. The therapy worked and her speech is fine now. She went back to work and school and today is her graduation. She has been brave and courageous. She has kept her wicked sense of humor and she did her best and despite the setbacks, she has accomplished everything. We had made an agreement that I would continue to work until she graduated and then I would retire. So she quit and was accepted at the school. The plan was going just as we planned. Then my doctors told me if I didn’t retire then, 2008, I would end up in a wheelchair or worse. So we needed to adjust our plans and we did, and my sister worked full time for all but the first couple of quarters of her degree. Here in America, we had our economic crash in 2008 so this was all ill timed. But today I am here to tell you her dream has come true. We are off to go to the graduation.

Never give up. You never know what the Universe will bring into your life.

Judge comes down hard on NSA phone tactics

This is worthy of a good conversation.

PiedType's avatarPied Type

“I cannot imagine a more ‘indiscriminate’ and ‘arbitrary’ invasion than this systematic and high-tech collection and retention of personal data on virtually every single citizen for purposes of querying and analyzing it without prior judicial approval.”

eaglespyingThose are the words of Judge Richard J. Leon of the Federal District Court of the District of Columbia as he denounced the National Security Agency yesterday in his ruling on Klayman vs. Obama. The judge, a George W. Bush appointee, ordered the NSA to stop collecting data on the personal calls of the two plaintiffs and destroy the records it has gathered on them. He stayed his injunction, giving the government time to appeal.

The case is the first where a federal judge not on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which authorized and rubber-stamps the operations of the once-secret surveillance program, has ruled on the NSA’s data collection on a non-criminal defendant.

In his 68-page ruling, Judge…
