Today’s Croatian Responsibilities – No Cyrillic in Vukovar
A wonderful blog by Ina about the Croatian people and the genocide they have suffered.
Croatia, the War, and the Future
By Dr. Slobodan Lang (10 February 2013)
Translated into English by Ina Vukic
The most important question for today’s Croatia is, by far, that of its demographic health. A wrong diagnosis is a criminal act in medicine and a right diagnosis without therapy, is immoral. The whole truth must be determined and, on basis of that, the moset effective help needs to be set. Demographic health of today’s Croatia comprises of: maintenance and spacing of population, employment, ageing and ecology.
This is the fundamental responsibility of all citizens, of the academic community, of the economy, of religion and especially of politics. Only those political parties and politicians who offer solutions to these questions are to be supported.
Alongside of this, of course, we also need to attend to safety, to our reputation in the world and to our own dignity.
Emphasising other questions is merely diverting people’s attention, provoking conflicts…

~~A Puerto Rican Christmas~~
Navidad is the best of Puerto Rican culture.
Nowhere else is Christmas celebrated like in Borinquen. Navidad is the time of tradition, aguinaldos, décimas, y de ser jíbaroPuertorriqueño.
Christmas celebrations in Puerto Rico begin very early in December and do not stop on December 25th. The celebrations can continue into the middle of January if you consider the ”octavas and octavitas”. The big Christmas celebrations are; December 24 – Nochebuena; December 25 – Navidad; December 31 – Despedida de Año; and the biggest and most important of all for the children, of course, el Día de Reyes on January 6th.
What makes our Christmas different?
First, most “Ricans” pretend to be jíbaros (or claim to be from el campo) during the holidays. We have a “pava” (traditional straw-hat) in storage just for Christmas.

Enya
Enya is one of my favorite New Age singers. Her music will carry your soul away to fly among the stars. There is a freedom and a sense of the spectacular within her melodies. Her lyrics have a bit of the Celtic and the magic of long ago times. I find her music is just perfect for the winter season. So have a seat, put your feet up, have a warm beverage and sit back and allow Enya carry you away to another world. When you return you will feel less distressed and at peace.
Tomorrow, the music will continue to flow through your subconscious as you go about your day. Your heart just a little lighter and a little more open. So happy listening and I hope you will be blessed by the music.
Winter Party Advice
This is the time of year for Holiday parties. It is always difficult to decide what to wear. A dress, a skirt or pants. What color should it be? Does it still fit me well? Will I be too warm in it or too cool? Since I was a selling specialist for several American designers such as Michael Kors. (Yes, I know I have done many different things. I bore easily) Today’s blog is good solid advice you can count on. I recommend black and white. Summer or winter. White is now allowed after Labor Day. I am sure you are glad to hear that. This video will show you some ways to wear it.
