Honey Mango Lassi

I hear that more mangoes are eaten fresh all over the world, than any other fruit! I was not surprised when I heard that, I love eating mangoes, its most probably my most favourite fruit to eat! Mangoes are native to Southeast Asia, where it has been growing for the past 4,000 years. To grow mangoes hot weather is required to product a good crop. Over the years mango groves have spread to many parts of the tropical and sub-tropical world, where the climate allows the mango to grow best. So Bangladesh produces its own mangoes during the summer season, and in Bengali it’s called ‘aam’.
Most of the mangos sold here in Canada is from Mexico and South America. I made this mango lassi with fresh mangoes, since they were widely available at the grocery store!! These mangoes by themselves taste delicious but when I made this I was…

Being a light
Sometimes we are a light, this is what we strive for. Sometimes we say or do the wrong thing. Sometimes we don’t understand. Sometimes we try to fix something we said or did and there is forever damaged. But we always are a light. And we shine. Thank you to my WordPress family for shining in my life and the lives of millions of others in this world. We are all creative and temperamental artists and may that be the source…our inner source of light in a world which works hard to put out lights. May ours never go out and indeed shine well after we are gone.
Fifty Years Ago Today
President John F. Kennedy believed in Peace and felt we could end war. Our problems, he believed were created by us and therefore could be solved by us. I still agree. This is hard for Americans my age to talk about. I believe we never stopped wondering what if… What if he had lived? We will never know. But that magic bullet changed America in such a way that we can but wonder what would America be today. A gentler, strong, country with much less racism and more belief in peace. JFK said in a speech that the world’s problems were man made and therefore could be rectified by man. Kennedy also believed in helping your country. Which in my mind means helping each other. Caring about others. ” Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.”
At the time of the assassination of President Lincoln at the Ford Theater in Washington. I oft wonder what would have happened if he had lived and could have steered the country through Reconstruction after the Civil War. I believe it would have changed many things. He would have stopped the Klu Klux Klan and the new free men and women would have been educated. The south would have not been punished in the way that happened. Is this relevant? Yes, it is.

In Dallas, Jackie wore a pink Chanel suit. Many tried to get her to change clothes on Air Force One and after landing in Washington. She replied, that she was not going to change because
“she wanted them to see what they had done.” The suit is preserved in the National Archives.
May there be another Kennedy to rise up and take over where JFK was stopped.

The still water reflecting the early morning sun
birds singing sweetly, squirrels having fun
the breeze gently blowing
a dog on a run

He sniffs then pauses
Scratches with his paws
I never could imagine what was the cause
I suppose it is his nature the natural law
–
I watch in wonder as he runs away
What wonders he will see, with what will he play
As he takes his run by the lake
This sunny, still, light breeze kind of day
Thank you for allowing me to share a thought or two.. A change from my usual unusual. I hope we can all share a smile and share some love making our world a better place for all we share it with. 🙂
Something to think about ….
I speak the international language. I can understand all of its forms. It is a language which touched the soul before the mind. Music is the language almost every human being understands.
Every life …. human, animal, microscopic. It’s all a connected chain.
