August 3rd, 2014. Salalah Wildlife enthusiasts with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs rescued a whale that was stranded in a beach between Hadbin and Hasik in the Dhofar governorate.

The observers expended great efforts to help return the mammal to deep sea so that it could swim away.

Bloated whale carcass beached in Lamaline (Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada)

August 3rd, 2014. A dead whale has washed up near the shore in Lamaline, a small townon Newfoundland’s Burin Peninsula.

The whale, which appears to be a humpback, could be seen Saturday washed up in a shallow rocky area.

Local residents told CBC the whale has caused quite a stir in the community, with many flocking to view the remains.

There is no word on whether the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), or any other agency, has plans to remove it.
