Protests Might Make a Difference – Stop the Brutality

Nel's New Day

Ferguson, Missouri, is a suburb of St. Louis. Two-thirds of its population of 21,203 is black, but four out of five city council members are white. The black superintendent of schools was forced out for unknown reasons last November and replaced by a white man. Of the 53 police officers, 50 are white, yet blacks account for 93 percent of the arrests.  Of the 54 police officers, 52 of them are white. As Rachel Maddow pointed out in this video, the police officers’ prejudice against people of color in this town has been rampantly open for many years. The situation came to a tipping point four days ago when a town police officer killed Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager, possibly by shooting him in the back ten times.

When people gathered in protest after the teenager’s killing, police fired tear gas at them, sometimes when people were standing in their…

The judgement of Robin Williams …. who is anyone to judge??

It Is What It Is

RFaces

~~August 13, 2014~~

I’m very much aware that much has been written, reported, discussed, argued about Robin Williams’ recent death. The airwaves, the blogosphere and the news have taken to reporting the death of this great talent.

Many are already tired of this topic, others have spoken in ways that show callousness and insensitivity about his passing. I must say I am a fan, I grew up with this man’s creative genius and his work played a part in my life. Knowing that he’s not here anymore and knowing about his daily battle with depression makes me sad.

Like many, I will miss him ….

Sad3

“Some people are being judgmental and rude in the unfortunate passing of the great Robin Williams and it’s really upsetting how people can try to make themselves seem superior even in his and his family’s pain.

Sometimes we take take and take and forget to…

“We Will Kill”: Sweden On Edge After Swedish Member Of ISIS Issues Threat On Live TV

MidnightWatcher's Blogspot

The “Word of Allah” is certainly speaking loud and clear today, and what it is saying has an awful lot to do with that which Islam loves most: death:

Host: “I’m asking you if ‘Mohammed came in order to kill.’ You verify that?” Caller: “That is 100% correct.” Host: “And to quote the Shahada [There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger] while killing people is correct, too?” Caller: “Yes, we will kill them. We are not ashamed of it.”

And there we have it. Whereas the founder of Christianity came in order to give life and to give it in abundance (John 10:10), the founder of Islam came in order to take lives and to destroy as many of them as possible …

Qur’an: Sura 4:89, “Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers [non-Muslims] wherever you find them.”

Revelation 13:15, “The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the…

Robin Williams – a chance for us to learn

Flickr Comments

Robin Williams – 1951 – 2014 – in a discussion of this tragic topic (depression, suicide, silence about the reasons and methods) I replied to an article of the blogger Isadora:
dear Isadora,
you = “raised by a mother who had severe depression and was plagued with paranoid schizophrenia” and me (my mother made suicide too, so I understood, that depression is a severe danger) – we know what we are talking about. “F” for FINAL DAY should be more often a topic of writing. Many years I put my focus on suicide, trying to understand the structure of the process – and searching for techniques to change a depressive state of mind. At first I read with interest American psychiatrists’ books with focus on behaviorism. Much more efficient was, what I read in my psychoanalytic library: from Freud via Adler to Karen Horney or Otto F. Kernberg. I…

BREAKING: Hacktavist Group Anonymous Releases Dispatch Tapes After Michael Brown Shooting

The Fifth Column

Anonymous YouTube Screenshot

I have mixed emotions about Anonymous.  The one thing I will say is that their mission on any given occasion always seem to side with “truth” and justice” no matter who the protagonist is…Dems or GOP.

Blue Nation Review

There’s something to be said for transparency and with the hacktavist group Anonymous that is exactly what we get. After the Ferguson, Missouri shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, people took the streets in protest and the local police responded with violence and threats. Activist hacker group Anonymous appeared right beside them threatening to make a whole lot of information public if the police didn’t back down, and they are making good on their threat.

Released now are the police dispatch tapes discussing Michael Brown’s shooting, there’s no audio for the first minute, discussion of the shooting begins after 11 minutes. The tech site Mashable has confirmed with the…

It was in a magnificent backyard which included several decks on the house, a fire pit. walkways through the woods filled with local flora and fauna including deer, a meandering stream, places to sit and just enjoy the surroundings.

The concert itself took place in front of a massive tent which was erected over a basketball court. There were other tents for beverages light refreshments and vendors. All the food and beverages were complimentary. The weather was perfect. It was easy to just sit and enjoy.
