Welcome to San Diego County Homes!

This new category for my WordPress blog will feature Photographic Art of the magnificent homes found throughout San Diego County. Most of these magnificent homes are mountain, hillside, and beachfront homes. Areas like La Jolla, Coronado, Del Mar, Encinitas, Poway, Mission Hills, Mount Helix, and Kensington are just a few of the areas that will be represented.

One of the most magnificent properties that is readily accessible and viewable to the general public, and easy to get to, is this La Jolla Beach Mansion:

That beach mansion is located at 1900 Spindrift Drive in La Jolla, about two hundred feet north of The Marine Room, one of San Diego County’s best restaurants.

Beaches are public property in California, and with The Marine Room close by, as well as the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, there are always quite a few people staring…

Out & About

It’s no secret to Southern Californians that Newport Beach—all of Orange County, really—is an enclave of fairly wealthy people. That fact seems ironic considering that Orange County filed for bankruptcy in 1994, taking two years to get its affairs back in order. Nonetheless, all one has to do is walk through some Newport Beach neighborhoods to see that it’s not your average city. Along with many large, magnificent, and beautiful homes….

…the little things indicate that these people have a little extra disposable income. Witness the addresses on their homes:

Once they finish the beautiful address markers, many include extra decorative ornamentation….

Some of them even decorate their mailboxes. Don’t want any ugly black or gray things hanging on fences or walls.

I don’t have access to public real estate records for Orange County like I do San Diego County, so I couldn’t check address to determine which house I…

Ted Wafer’s Attorney Re-Litigates Case To Argue For A Reduced Sentence

We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident

He is due for sentencing next week. Wayne County prosecutors, and defense attorney Cheryl Carpenter, have filed their pleadings.

Prosecutors are asking that Judge Hathaway use sentencing guidelines. Wafer stands to be sentenced between 15 and 25 years in prison that would be in addition to an automatic 2 year sentence for unlawful use of a gun. Prosecutors are asking that Wafer be sentenced to at least 17 years in prison.

Caring makes you a better person and the world a better place

Texas A&M UniversityI went to public schools — grade school in Brigham City, Utah, and Kingsville, Texas; and junior high and high school in Kingsville. Then I went to a public university, Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Although I never had children (never wanted them), if they had existed, they would have gone to public schools because I think public schools do a better job of actually proving to children that there are good and bad in anything. If you go to an elite, private school, all you get exposed to are elite, private peers. Who wants that? I need variety in my life!

With no children, and no desire to serve on a school board, I do have an interest in what our public schools are teaching. I think John Green said it best about why he has no problem paying school taxes:

Croatia: Citizenship Not Only For Sale In ‘James Bond’ Movies

Croatia, the War, and the Future

Croatian passport for sale

It looks like the Croatian president Ivo Josipovic and his politically minded allies from “former” communist echelons, i.e., the equally incompetent Social Democrats government led by Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, have watched too many James Bond spy movies and have concluded that suitcases filled with cash and several passports one always saw in the fiction genre as the spy’s tools, could in reality be successfully used as a quick getaway from the economic crisis that’s consistently pushing the country towards bankruptcy.

Only a couple of days ago the Croatian President had announced that he salutes the government’s freshly baked idea of putting Croatian citizenship up for sale! They said the idea needs more work and weren’t sure as to what price tag should come with the citizenship. Millions of Euro per citizenship hit gluttonously swirl around the minds of those in Croatia who think that the economy could be saved…

ISIS torture based on Guantanamo torture

Dear Kitty. Some blog

This video from the USA is called STILL Think Waterboarding Isn’t Torture? Try it Bush.

Translated from NOS TV in the Netherlands:

“James Foley waterboarded by ISIS

Update: Thursday 28 Aug 2014, 23:29

ISIS fighters in Syria have tortured at least four prisoners by waterboarding, The Washington Post reports. One of the victims was the American journalist James Foley, who was later beheaded.

In waterboarding someone gets a cloth over one’s face, then water is thrown over it. This leads to a feeling of drowning. The United States used the method often in Guantánamo Bay, until President Obama banned it.

ISIS has copied more Guantánamo techniques. Eg, ISIS prisoners also wear orange overalls and they are sometimes subjected to mock executions.
