From The Inner City

Rob Moses Photography

This is a shot from my neighbourhood in Bridgeland/Renfrew in Calgary to downtown. I shot this photo a couple blocks away from my house last night. That is one of the things I love about living in an inner-city neighbourhood, easy access to wonderful views of the city :).

Messages, signs, the feeling there is an influence moving the pieces of my life, any or all of these things are how I feel right now. Circles form the imagery that floats around the addled compartments of my brain, a feeling of doors closing and doors opening. It is not a bad feeling, in fact the concept of aspects of life being overseen by some greater force is comforting, but I have never seen or felt these connections so strongly before.

In a group I participate in discussions in on LinkedIn, the Spiritual Writers Assoc. I came across an interesting discussion and thoughts  being shared. So I thought I would share a few thoughts and a Mathematics Equation to a problem as it was noted by a participant in the group. The law of Mathematics is quite undeniable and is used to verify everything in science so I would like to share an answer to a very important issue in a mathematical way.

The discussion is titled:
Can all religions be considered as different pathways to know God?
The comment shared below inspired this post and the math;

It is clear that all pathways to God, founded by the prophets of the past, are ideal. But in reality they became a reason for fight and killing. There is no choice. You inherit your belief from your…

Not Your Typical “Back To School” Post

Crazy, Beautiful Life!

back-to-school1 My Instagram has been flooded with image after image of my friends sending their kids off to their first day of school. Their sweet sentiments and loving words absorb almost every adjective known to the English language, and the number of tearful pictures of Mom’s were endless! As I peruse my feed, I am secretly praying to see a post…a picture… anything…NOT related to back to school…secretly praying the next post or the next sad mommy face won’t add another layer of guilt to the already overwhelming feelings of inadequacies I feel as a mother. You see, I did not take any pictures of my 17 year old boy leaving the house to head to his first day as a senior in high school. I did not cry as I watched him close the door. As a matter of fact, I wasn’t even home to see my son off to his first…

Walking with the Alligators

Winona LaDuke

For those of you not familiar with her, Winona LaDuke is the Executive Director  of a group called  Honor the Earth.

Last week they began a new campaign  called   “Love Water, Not Oil,”  that is vital, no critical,  to all Americans, not  just Native Americans.

What Fracking and Oil pipelines have done and will continue to do to the environment of this country, should be high on everybody’s agenda.

Once our water supplies and land are contaminated, it will take thousands of years to make them safe again.

Hopefully, you will keep this in mind, when you go to the polls to Vote this week and next:

” which candidates are supporting Fracking and Oil Pipelines and which ones are opposed to them? “

The condition of the water and land that you will  have this time next year depends on it.

Here is a brief Bio that I wrote about Winona…

Inside Domestic Abuse

QBG_Tilted Tiara

The 112th Congress has refused to reauthorize the 1994 Violence Against Women Act, significant in the original passage it opened the door to what had previously been viewed as private family matters and provided both education and funding to help victims and law enforcement. Never, since its original passage has it been the subject of a partisan fight on the floor of either house of Congress, yet this year it is. The overall tone of the Right, women are of no particular value unless they are in the kitchen, pregnant and silent. The objection to the Bill, is the expansion of services, the boogie man of ‘other’; Gay, Transgender, Native Tribes and Immigrant Women are included in this years re-authorization, we all know none of us are part of humanity and should be served, right?

I wrote this several years ago. At the time, it was wrenching to write. Today…
