How I’m Going To Start Meditating

After reading The Dharma Bums for the second time.  I got convinced that is time for me to start meditating.  I have read plenty of posts about meditation and they are all positive.  So I did what every person in the 21st century would do when it comes to finding information on how to start.  I loaded a Goggle page and typed “how to start meditating”.  Like you can imagine I found a ton of different information about it.  From a guy who said to start by meditating an hour a day and move up to three hours a day.  Three hours???  Okay, I don’t want to meditate for that long.  I don’t think I have the time to meditate for three hours a day.  If I do, I wont do it.  I’m looking for an hour max a day.  So I decided to take some of his advice and…

Trouble in Hummerville!

The bees have swarmed the hummer’s feeders!

We have massive annual swarms of honeybees and lots of bees year round at The Holler. There are many flowers and orchards to keep all the pollinators happy. We want to provide a safe haven for bee populations which are in decline and for hummingbirds as well.

But the hummers are not the least bit happy with the bees taking over their feeders. The bees go after the hummers, and can sting them.

I have to cover up as much as possible to take photos of the action. Of course I covered up with a blue jacket and hood, not knowing bees were specifically attracted to blue, and the bees came after me! It probably would have been better if I had researched this first.

I haven’t seen a bee sting a hummingbird but the hummingbirds are definitely afraid of them.
