Running Gets The Creative Juices Flowing, Too

I feel that beauty gets my juices flowing. Enjoy your shower. Hugs, Barbara

run sweatI’m something of a sweat monster, Modern Philosophers.

There.  I’ve said it.  It’s out in the open.  I can stop hiding it from you.

I think one of the reasons I prefer running outside to doing it at the gym, is because I am so self-conscious at the amount of sweat I generate.

I could fill entire reservoirs with the sweat that my body produces on a 5 mile run.  I’ve often felt the urge to hire a lifeguard to stand nearby just in case someone else at the gym began to drown in all my perspiration.

When I run on the open road, I don’t have to worry about the people on either side of me on the treadmills that are far too close for my liking (and theirs once they catch a whiff of me).  Plus, the fresh air does something to help with the malodorous scents defiling…

There is no straight path

They make up our lessons and challenges.

Perpetua's avatarPhotographs and Memories

zig zag Mount Sinai

There is no straight path.

You Zig your way
You Zag the other way
Zigzagging as you go along in life
Avoiding the pitfalls and perils.

The big rocks
The pebbles
The sandy wind
The blinding sun.

 You stumble along the way.

Pick up yourself
Shake the dust off your body
Wipe the blood of your hand and knees.

You cry some
You laugh some
You ignore some
You wonder what am I doing?

Even the camels
Even the mountain goats
They are smart enough to
Walk, jump, crisscross in the
Treacherous rocky mountain.

Don’t be fooled
For there is no short cuts
In the mountain of life.

No short cut.

There are tremendous reasons
To place the blame. Be it people,
Situations, yourself, or anything
Or anyone.  These are obstacles in life.

Unless you have a God

For your God
can make a straight path
For you.

A new law imposing restrictions on users of social media has come into effect in Russia.

It means bloggers with more than 3,000 daily readers must register with the mass media regulator, Roskomnadzor, and conform to the regulations that govern the country’s larger media outlets.

Internet companies will also be required to allow Russian authorities access to users’ information.

One human rights group called the move “draconian”.

“U.S. Supreme Court Opines on Issues in IRP6 Case — Part I”

Megan's Law's avatarMegan's Law Journal

On May 28, 2014, David Banks published an article on Free The IRP6Bill of Rights

SUMMARY

I have sought guidance from written opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) related to the handling of our case by government officials in Colorado.  Opinions from the Supreme Court substantiates that the IRP6 have suffered numerous constitutional violations as both the accused and as private citizen as it relates to concealing and denying access to court transcripts. SCOTUS opined that the IRP6’s First, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights have been violated. Let’s review their findings together.

The Sixth Amendment reads “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and PUBLIC trial. The Court Reporter’s Act is rooted in the Sixth Amendment given that the court reporter is required under the act to promptly “file [original shorthand notes and original records] with the clerk of court who…

Sometimes the Monsters are Real – Ebola

~ Sadie ~'s avatarJust something I was thinking about . . .

hot-zone-bk

I have said before that I think the world is a scary place. There’s a lot of bad shit going on right now. The largest EBOLA outbreak in history, happening in West Africa, has caused me some alarm.

Now I first learned about Ebola back in 1994 when I read “The Hot Zone,” written by Richard Preston. This is an incredibly compelling, horrifying read. I started the book one evening after putting my daughter to bed, and stayed up until about 4:00 a.m. to finish it because I literally could not put it down – I found it to be absolutely riveting. This would be some of the best horror/science fiction ever written, except for the fact that it is real. If you haven’t read it, you might want to just to be enlightened (or scared shitless!).

With global travel what it is, and the ways AIDS spread, I have…

“I shut my eyes in order to see.” Paul Gauguin (from Skinnyartist.com)

How can one create with eyes shut? Gauguin’s statement would seem to not make any sense. Does he mean painting with a blindfold on? Many paintings out there look as though they have been painted with a blindfold on. Many more look like they need to have been painted with a blindfold on. But is this to be taken literally?

Gauguin, in my opinion, is talking about the heart. Let the heart see with the heart’s eyes. That is a difficult thing to do when the brain’s eyes want to remain in control. There is the natural inclination to recreate in exact detail what is physically present.   It may be necessary to actually close the eyes to get the right visual. It may take practice. It may take concentration to let go of one set of eyes…
