Robert and Gladys Zimmerman’s Lawsuit Moved to Federal Court

Xena's avatarWe Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident

Robert and Gladys Zimmerman, the parents of George Zimmerman, filed suit in the Florida State Circuit Court in Sanford, Florida against Roseanne Barr. They allege that they were forced to leave their home and go into hiding because Barr tweeted their home address. The Zimmerman’s accuse Barr of violating their privacy and intentionally inflicting emotional distress and are seeking unspecified damages.

Two weeks ago, the case was transferred from the state circuit court to the

Some of you might remember that I predicted that would be Barr’s attorney’s first move because of diversity. Barr resides in Hawaii and the Zimmerman’s in Florida.

SHARIA IN AMERICA: DEMOCRATS AND MUSLIM LEGISLATORS ARE TRYING TO CRIMINALIZE FREE SPEECH IN THE USA

Ok, my readers. Let’s have a serious discussion about this. Free speech is important to all Americans. Hugs, Barbara

There is very dangerous legislation making its way through both the House of Representatives and Senate that will finish the United States. The sharia bill calls for Islamic blasphemy laws — the criminalization of speech that offends or insults — who, exactly? Well, that is up to the enforcer, is it not?

On Wednesday, Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) introduced “The Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014″ (S.2219), which seeks “to examine the prevalence of hate crime and hate speech on the Internet, television, and radio to better address such crimes.” Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) introduced a companion bill in the House – H.R. 3878.

Yes, we see, Hakeem. The first amendment protects all speech, not just speech that we like. Or else who would decide what’s good and what’s forbidden? Hakeem? When I was a young girl, the Nazis were given permission to march in a predominately…

Money: If You Miss The Bus, Don’t Miss The Plane.

teeceecounsel's avatarWise Counsel

You might just be wondering why the title is not the other round.
It’s simple. I was with a very good friend who had to submit some assignments before taking a trip. Submitting the assignment meant that she would be at her school around the regular time that buses take of for the destination of her intended trip and proceed with the trip afterwards.
I stood by her as she went through the rigors of completing the assignment. I also went along with her to the school to make the submission. Upon arrival, we discovered that submission of the same assignment had been postponed by one week. This was interesting, although a little bit annoying.
It was then time for her to pack her bags and head to the park where she would make the trip from. I left her to go home and pick up her bags for the…

Seed of Light Award

My good friend Dr. Rex  has nominated me for this lovely award

The Seed of Light Award

“ALL YOU NEED IS ONE TO START A FOREST”
An Award for blogs that inspire creativity, nature, connection,
communication and beauty … Pass it On!”

~~What is a seed?~~

seed is an embryonic plant enclosed in a protective outer covering called the seed coat, usually with some stored food. It is the product of the ripened ovule which occurs after fertilization and some growth within the mother plant. The formation of the seed completes the process of reproduction in seed plants (started with the development of flowers and pollination), with the embryo developed from the zygote and the seed coat from the integuments of the ovule.

All seeds are different size, shape and colors.

A seed is the beginning. It has promise of creation, growth and impending greatness.

A seed has a great responsibility. It carries the weight of a plant, a tree and forest on it’s shoulders.

“Seed can have many definitions. When I think of seed being used any other way than as the reproductive structures in plants, I think of a new beginning. Many different types of seeds can be planted or “sown”. They can be planted in the ground to produce food, they can be used to impregnate a woman to produce babies, or seeds can be planted in an individual or a group as an idea.

Seeds represent the very beginning of all life. I think that seeds are one of the most amazing things that happen in this world. It is hard to imagine that something as tiny as they are, can produce something as large as they do.

When we think of the word seed, we usually think of those little things that we stick in our garden, with great hopes that in time that seed will transform into some kind of fruit, vegetable, or beautiful flower. A seed  can be used as a metaphor for spiritual birth or spiritual growth.

“The seed will grow well (people will continue to grow), the vine will yield its fruit (people will blossom and grow spiritually), the ground will produce its crops (the people will multiply), and the heavens will drop their dew (the heavens will provide the nourishment that the people will need to keep growing and prosper). I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people.”

The very same way that a “real” seed has these many responsibilities, so do we.

As bloggers and presenters of information, news, topics, points of view, we are somehow shaping/educating/influencing the minds of readers and followers. We are in a privileged position.

Award for Love and Kindnesss

I want to thank Eric at Hunt4Truth for nominating me for this award, which I created some time ago to celebrate the love and kindness in the world.  I am so pleased that he enjoyed the award so much, and took it to heart.  It warms me that he felt that the Award is worthwhile and that he thinks enough of me to send it back to me.  Eric is one of the bloggers who has shown me kindness, with his loving words of support and friendship and I appreciate him — and his blog — very much. As I said when I created this award: award.LoveAndKindness“It is important for us to remember that we are One Family living in One World; we are Sisters and Brothers, no matter how we look, what culture we live in, what religion we practice or who we love.  In many ways, blogging removes some of the obvious barriers between us, and helps bring those of us from all walks of life, ethnicity, creed, colors and ideals together as One Family,” said Barbara. The Rules:

  1. Share an act of kindness another blogger has done for you.
  2. Thank the person who nominated you for the award, and link back to  their blog
