Cats Again Kill Critically Endangered Birds

Orange-bellied parrots are among the world’s most critically endangered birds, with fewer than 50 individuals still in existence in the forests of Australia. Although conservationists have been working tirelessly to boost their numbers through captive breeding programs, their progress was hindered recently by the taboo wanderings of one very naughty kitty.
According to wildlife officials, the unauthorized feline managed to breach the premises of a secured breeding center in Tasmania last month. Once inside, the bad cat then actually entered the parrots’ enclosure through a small hole and began to terrorize the extremely rare birds.
In the resulting panic, two parrots died — no small number considering just how few of these animals remain.
The bird-killing culprit may have remained a mystery if it weren’t for the cat’s poor planning. As it turns out, squeezing into the parrot’s enclosure was easier than getting out; staff members actually discovered the problem…

Today, I want to share how research provides a link between spiritual experiences and health.
According to research, spiritual experiences are associated with a decreased focus on the self. Prayer, meditation, and mindfulness to name a few, are healthy. Similar to good diet, exercise and rest, regular spiritual experiences contribute to overall health.
I previously explained spiritual experiences this way:
Spiritual experiences are associated with a decreased focus on the self. I’ll use this as a definition for a spiritual state of mind: a non-tangible state of mind that brings profound meaning into one’s life as one transcends oneself.

Human angels
Some one sent me information about this book. I thought that it was interesting. I don’t know whether it is real, or possible or not. The profile of a human angel did strike me because it has many of my characteristics. We will never be sure and I realize some will scoff. That’s ok. My shoulders are wide. I did have a spiritual teacher thirty years ago that told me the sixties happened because angels wanted to come to earth. God values humans over even the angels. When they got here, it was much harder to walk this journey that they had expected. He felt that the drug use back then and the number of OD’s / suicides were angels who couldn’t handle the life on this plane of existence. Again I don’t know what is true but my gut tells me that it is possible. At the time, I was shocked because I didn’t think any sentient being would opt for this life over being in the presence of Divinity and singing praises, if that is what happens. The Bible and the Tanach teach that angels walk among us. So this is for each of us to decide on our own. I did find the book on Kindle for $4.99 if you are interested. I figured five dollars was worth the read. I am sure libraries carry or can get you the book.
The Pledge of Allegiance is a treasure I found to remind us that while we owe our allegiance to our countries, the real allegiance goes to Mother Earth. One Earth, one world, one people and we will carry the consequences of what we do to heal or to destroy Mother Earth in our souls for eternity. So whether or not there are human angels, there is one planet, with one people and one love. We can destroy ourselves or we can heal our home and ensure life for many generations to come.
