It Ain’t Pretty

Sewn Up Heart Sewn Up Heart

I’ll simply dedicate two simple songs for this tainted love post. Nothing much to write as those pages of my life are better left unvisited.

I’ve fallen “for love” than “in love”. And once you’ve fallen for love there’s no getting up till the bang of the end hits your face like a slap from reality. Reality then lets you hang from your hair in it’s hands and keeps kicking your gut till you finally make sense of the scene and stop crying. That pain is what builds you character, defines your learnings and tells you to stay firm when some pretty and believable silhouette approaches you from that one open door that lights your dark world. It’s so easy to fall into a trap, really. You may think I’m giving you some doze from some a painfully depressing masochistic movie but it’s true.

When You’re At The END

A Shade Of Pen

~~In the shoes of…. “I don’t really know what this feeling” is called~~the dark moon

The picture belongs to Al Forbes. I generally write poetry on pictures, but this picture just stood out… I couldn’t control my pen and I think I just could feel the words.. My heart goes out to all who feel this way.

I keep standing.. waiting for that one ray of light to feel alright.. for that one unheard whisper that tells me, it’s okay.. you can CRY..and yet the clock keeps ticking.. there’s no sound.. no whispering.. no hugging..It’s just me and my shadow.. and slowly as the sun hides in the tuft of white clouds that I once loved, the shadow too leaves me alone.. It Is What It Is

~~February 21, 2014~~

~~Here’s the answer~~

Every relationship has a cycle … In the beginning you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn’t hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous…

Serious Fun: UWI HARP on Research Day

Great post and book recommendations. I have read a good many of them. Hugs, Barbara

Petchary's Blog

Ms. Yolanda Paul takes her work seriously – but with enormous humor and a sense of fun. That sounds like a contradiction, but it’s true. Yolanda is a Trinidadian “import” of the nicest possible kind, an avid fan of soca music, and also one of the most hard-working women I know. You will find her at the University of the West Indies HIV/AIDS Response Programme (UWI HARP) office on Kingston’s Mona Campus.

The huge, air-conditioned white tent on the University of the West Indies’ Kingston campus was vibrating with music as I approached and entered. Inside was a maze of compartments and sectioned-off displays, each demonstrating a different department and area of research. One of the most popular was a large exhibit on the lion fish – an invasive species that is gobbling up much of our marine life.
