When the Violin
“When
The violin
Can forgive the past
It starts singing.
When the violin can stop worrying
About the future
You will become
Such a drunk laughing nuisance
That God
Will then lean down
And stare combing you into
His
Hair.
When the violin can forgive
Every wound caused by
Others
The heart starts singing.” —Hafiz; Translated by Daniel Ladinsky

Beautiful poem.

I loved the choice of this poem Barbara, I hope there will be more ‘Drunk laughing nuisance’s “around the world very soon Barbara… We could all do with a good dance to a fiddlers tune 🙂

Very nice, Barbara. I grew up near Asheville.
Did you really? Which suburb? Hugs, Barbara
I was born and raised in Morganton, Burke County. Most of my relatives are still there; an uncle was magistrate, another uncle ran the water plant, etc. I have former relatives in Asheville. The Builtmore House is a favorite place to take out-of-town company. Do you live in the area?
My best friend of thirty five years lives in Arden. I will be really retiring in Asheville. I also have two daughters in N.C. One other is moving to Oaklahoma. Hugs, Barbara
That is so cool! 🙂 Hugs Back!
