My respect for Dr. King and his words is enormous. I pray one day that every sentient being will understand his words and will live in the spirit of love and acceptance of everyone. I pray for the end of bigotry, and hatred. I pray that the essence of the love that moved Dr. King would invade every country and every government. Most importantly, that his essence will fill every human heart and that together we will conquer racism, sexism and all bigotry. I am so glad I lived during part of Martin Luther King’s life. May your spirit live for many millennia.

Doorbell Prank Leads To Teen Shooting

We must end stand your ground. Guns aren’t used to ” scare” people. I am glad that charges were brought against him.

End Stand Your Ground

A couple of teenagers out for fun who were playing a dangerous game of ringing door bells or knocking on doors in the early morning hours on Friday were shot at by a resident in Pennsylvania, and one bullet hit one of the teens in the foot as he was running, according to reports.

Gabe May, 14, of Arendtsville, was admitted to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries to a leg and foot.

The shooter, Eric Lee Steinour, 28, of Biglerville, was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. His bond was set at $50,000. He reportedly told police he was just trying to scare the boys.

The boy who was shot told police that after ringing the man’s doorbell, they ran and hid for a few minutes, then started walking when a man appeared out of nowhere, asked if they “were lost”…

The Rodent Whisperer

Monday morning humor.

Oh I DO Blather on, don't I?!?

Apparently…I’ve become a rodent whisperer!

It’s not by choice, oh not at all! But, choice or no, it seems it’s what I’ve become.

Either that, or, whenever I roll into a place to stay for awhile, the wily critters get the idea that I’ve just procured a gleaming, post-modernist condo for them, complete with water and waste facilities (i.e. my kitchen cabinets!) and, the finest of rodent dining experiences…all gratis, of course!

Last fall, at Casa de Fruta, the site of The Northern California Renaissance Faire, it was a rat…a large, sleek, dark brown rat with the biggest, blackest, most soulful eyes. I know this because he showed himself, one night while I was watching TV . Came out of the cabinet and looked at me. Maybe he was judging my movie choices, or maybe he was upset at me for disturbing his early evening nap (turn about fair play, I…
