A MODERN PERSPECTIVE ON COGNITIVE SCIENCE AND MENTAL HEALTH
welcome!
Modern gluten is not well tolerated by larger numbers of people since changes in agricultural manipulations that began in the late 1950s. Modern gluten contains a peptide that was virtually non-existent in wheat prior to changes in wheat to make it a sturdier and higher yield plant. These higher yield whet crops also have far less High-yield wheat varieties have less zinc, magnesium, iron, copper and selenium.
Bottom line – we most of us ought to be demanding more corn and a return to more nutritiously balanced ancient wheat plants.
I don’t think I know what nutritionally foods are anymore. Soi am beginning to read and figure it out. It is on my list. Hugs, Barbara
agriculture really shifted into high gear for producing more from less ground beginning in the 60s and 70s and continues to modify crops for high-yield, Even vitamins and even organically grown are suspect now. Labels aren’t as helpful either as it may seem that they are. Its a good idea to read about the foods that we use often for sure Barbara. I’m with you on that.
I think this is why children hit puberty sooner. The hormones they put in food these days effect the growth of our children.
Yes, there are higher incidences of ADD, ADHD, autism, depression, generalized anxiety and irritability and other mental/emotional problems – and it began more a few decades ago to increase dramatically. Vaccinations is not the reason — the problem is in our meat and produce. Its awful to discover this is and that is going almost unnoticed.
