Though our terrible winter took its toll on our gardens here in Cleveland. I am happy that many of my plants survived and while not thriving, they are fragrant and the color is a joy to my eyes and I hope to my neighbors also. Though the blooms are not as lush as they were in years past, I am delighted to have them to share with you. I hope you have a moment of pleasure as you peruse my photos.

Roses are a favorite of mine. Photographed and copyrighted by Barbara Mattio 2014
Oh, Barbara, how wonderful to see your garden. We too had a terribly cold and harsh winter and just now my Roses are growing getting ready to bloom. They did in one section but my main bigger garden, white flies and aphids so small I didn’t see them, got to them. So now that is all taken care of. Tonight I again spray for deer, so they don’t eat my Roses. Lots of work! (((HUGS))) Amy
Good luck and I hope you will share photos. All we can do is try to undo the winter damage. Hugs, Barbara
Oh, Barbara, I have a Rose right now today from my garden. The others when they arrive, they will be on my blog. I have waited over 2 years for some of these babies to flower!!!! (((HUGS))) Amy
Isn’t the sight of the first rose a thrill? I always leave the first one for God/ Goddess. Hugs, Barbara
I leave all my Roses on the bushes, Barbara. I would love to cut some to bring in for a bouquet, but, I have cats that will eat the Roses, believe it or not. So all my Roses stay intact on the bushes until they fade, and then I gently prune them, and lay the spent bloom at the “feet” of the bush to stay close. Have a wondeful weekend!! Love, Amy
I didn’t realize that cats ate roses. That does limit you. You have a great weekend also. Hugs, Barbara
Barbara, your flowers – especially the tiny ones – are gorgeous! ❤
Thanks Jackie. Love and hugs, Barbara
Very pretty 🙂
{Hugs}
Last year was more lush but after the winter I am thrilled to have what I have. LOL. Hugs, Barbara
Congrats on your beautiful garden! Lovely flowers indeed.
An orchestra of beauty 🙂
Thanks Ina. Hugs and light, Barbara
Beautiful garden. We are shifting our home and hoping to create something of our own at the new place. As there is no winter effect here, it is easier for us, I hope 🙂
What a wonderful new adventure for you. I wish you luck and I am sure you will create beauty. Hugs, Barbara
Thank you 🙂
Beautiful garden Barbara, I wish I had even a small green thumb.
