POEM

Home Sweet Home.

Where else would I be,
if I am not at home?
What is there to do,
if I am not at home?
Home is peace and joy.
At home, life is good!

There’s no face to fear,
no reason for shame.
Freely shed some tear,
gladly play my game.
This simply is home.

With my mobile phone,
resting on a couch.
I can feel at home,
without any pouch.
This for me; is home.

Far away from home,
I often wonder;
what would people think?
What could lie in wait?
Home is home indeed!

I love to be home;
no room to pretend.
Yes, just feel at home;
expect the day’s end.
Home makes life so sweet!

I play my own tunes,
I express myself.
Things meet my own taste,
my decisions stand.
What else could be home?

Where I’m my own boss;
I select my…

Immigration: Complaints Over ‘Go Home’ Texts

18 Oct 2013

A veteran civil rights campaigner who has lived in the UK for nearly 50 years was among those contacted by the Home Office. More than 140 people have complained after receiving text messages accusing them of being illegal immigrants and asking them to leave Britain.

You’ll Pay for This, GOP: How Obama will make the 2013 shutdown a political weapon.

Please read this. It is very wise and well written.

“There are no winners here,” President Obama declared at the White House this morning. Then, with an elegant air of non-partisanship, Obama began to fashion the shutdown into a political weapon. Here’s how he’s going to deploy it.

1. Economic excuse. Obama noted that before the shutdown, the economy was recovering, and the deficit was falling. The fiscal standoff changed all that: “Every analyst out there believes it slowed our growth.” Obama rattled off the damage: families going without paychecks, home buyers and small businesses unable to get loans, consumers cutting back on spending, CEOs reporting that the fiscal anxiety had “set back their plans to hire over the next six months.” Even the “threat of default,” said the president, “increased our borrowing costs, which adds to our deficit.”

Today, this litany of laments looked like simple compassion from the president. But over the next year, it can…

Music of Scars

You will find this very thought provoking.

Paul F. Lenzi's avatarPoesy plus Polemics

your voice is like whiskey
poured through gravel
and hardship
it teaches us something
that song without stones
of an age can’t deliver

your music of scars
moves on chords
built from pain
long suffering sounds
we’d give our last heartbeat
to sing even once

your implausible poise
plays a plaintive arpeggio
climbing the sequence
of notes that express
the best senses of
wounded humanity

LoC- 190 violations, 800 infiltrations

War. What is good about it? Nothing! Peace, Barbara

kashmir_locSince the month of January there have been at least 190 cease fire violations by Pakistan and this has been a great cause for worry the Indian forces who toil day in and out on the border. Although General Kayani and his country continue to deny any violation the fact of the matter is that Pakistan  is up to something very major as a result of which the violations have increased so much.

A report that has been prepared by the military intelligence with the help of the central intelligence agencies go on to show that there are a good number of terrorists waiting to cross over into India and these cease fire violations are only a way of facilitating the operation. The number of those waiting to cross over is however shocking and the agencies say that there are at least 800 of them from the Jaish-e-Mohammad and the…
