50th Time’s the Charm?

kstreet607's avatarThe Fifth Column

CongratsGOP

I guess the GOP never got the memo on the definition of insanity

Think Progress

House Republicans Are Still On Another Planet

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

While that quote has been misattributed to everyone from Albert Einstein to Mark Twain, it’s a pretty apt description of House Republicans and the Affordable Care Act.

Today, House Republicans voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act for the 50th time since the law was passed in 2010. The repeal bill they passed this afternoon would result in a million additional uninsured Americans just this year alone.

President Obama took a shot at these endless GOP games last week: “You know what they say: 50th time is the charm. Maybe when you hit your 50th repeal vote, you will win a prize. Maybe if you buy 50 repeal votes, you get one free.”

We are Love. No ticket required

Light Breaks Where no Sun shines

Light breaks where no sun shines;

Where no sea runs, the waters of the heart

Push in their tides;

And, broken ghosts with glow-worms in their heads,

The thing of light

File through the flesh where no flesh decks the bones.

A candle in the thighs

Warms you and seed and burns the seeds of age;

Where no seed stirs,

The fruit of man unwrinkled in the stars,

Bright as a fig;

Where no wax is, the candle shows its hairs.

Dawn breaks behind the eyes;

From poles of skull and toes the windy blood

Slides like a sea;

Nor fenced, not staked, the gushers of the sky

Sprout to the rod

Divining in a smile the oil of tears.

Night in the sockets rounds,

Like some pitch moon, the limit of the globes;

Day light the bone;

Where no cold is, the skinning gales unpin

The winter’s robes;

The film of spring is hanging from the lids.

Light breaks on secret lots,

On tips of thoughts where thoughts smell in the reain;

When logics die.

The secret of the soil grows through the eye,

And blood jumps in the sun;

Above the waste allotments the dawn halts.

What does it mean, world as lover? You are sitting by a clear lake on a summer’s night. The wind is rustling the trees; it is a strong wind and you’re almost cold, but not quite. Before you, white caps crown the dark waves, and the moon traces a shining path across the water. This raw beauty resides outside you, or so it seems. All at once it occurs to you that this same powerful beauty arises in you,  triggers itself in your personality. This same beauty, which you once thought you could only find in nature, you now fine in a living way in yourself.

The beauty of nature is found around you and within you

The beauty of nature is found around you and within you

The smooth patches in life are appreciated because we also experience the storms and high tides. Life is a balance. We are part of that balance. We make the balance work or we, as human beings, destroy the balance. We need to get ready to find the balance and keep it.

If you can find…

You have a good point but I have to always believe in the best outcome. Hope you are well. Hugs, Barbara

If you can find something everyone agrees on, it’s wrong.

Finally – it begins! One of the most important international court cases addressing the 1990’s war of aggression against Croatia will today 3rd March 2014 begin with hearing of evidence at the trial in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague. The trial is said to end on 1st April 2014 and there is a total ban on publishing any details from the hearing until the trial ends, which include specific evidence and testimonies.

Croatia had filed a suit in 1999 against the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (the remnants of former communist Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, which disintegrated into two separate independent states in 2006/ into Serbia and Montenegro ) for genocide at the highest UN court – the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague.  As Serbia and Montenegro went their separate ways in 2006, Croatia’s lawsuit at the…
