Sorry friends I couldn’t write a blog for another extra week (after Out of Office-2) as I had mild conjunctivitis. This time I haven’t forgotten, the answer to the question of the week is:

1)      As a weapon

2)      As resonance chambers for making sounds

3)       As an air reserve while under water

So, today’s prehistoric animal is not a dinosaur….. It is… Quetzalcoatlus!!!

The name Quetzalcoatlus means “Allusion to the serpent god Quetzalcoatl”.  It lived about 80-65 million years ago in the Late Cretaceous Period. Quetzalcoatlus was the largest known flying creature of all time with a wingspan up to 10 metres. It weighed about 100kgs. Its habitat is Inlands, near rivers and lakes. Fossils were found in Texas and Mexico. Quetzalcoatlus flapped its wings to get into the air, but once it was airborne, its huge wings enabled it to soar on currents of warm air. Quetzalcoatlus’s…

    I have always loved Quetzalcoatl (kwetsal-ko-wattal). But that could be because I love the Phoenix and ‘Coatl always makes me think of one due to it being a book from a game I played once.
