We have lost another great voice and musician. Glen Frey of the Eagles has passed and so many of us are reviewing our memories of the man and his music. I know that his family and bandmates are really grieving and I hope for their comfort. Glen Frey and Don Henley were the backbone of the band and it is always a shock to hear someone who you grew up listening to has passed. His solo career was good and as guitarist and singer for the Eagles he touched many people. Thank you Glen for the tunes and the good times. May you RIP.
You are missed. But I think that there is a rock band in heaven and that you were welcomed warmly and that you are all jammin’ away.
Too many, too recently, too soon.x
You are right. It is way too many and it isn’t supposed to be this way. He was 2 years older than I am. Sad. Hugs, Barbara

Indeed …. another loss!! A void very difficult to fill!
I doubt it will be filled. There was no replacement for John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin or Jimi Hendrix. They were unique to their art and like Mozart and Chopin, Monet and Van Gogh they will never be here again. Thank you for the reblog and I hope this finds you doing well. Hugs sweet friend. Barbara
Hug back!! Indeed, can’t be filled ….
What a couple of weeks it has been. We are feelings the losses on so many levels.
That is so true. I wondered when I was a girl why older people often seemed so sad. I guess I have learned this life lesson now. Hugs, Barbara
so many people impact our life and the older we get, the more of htem we seem to lose.
Thanks for this post, Barbara. The Eagles were part of the soundtrack to my younger days, too and saw me through some pretty big challenges. I agree with you that the gap is unlikely to be filled; but there will be new musicians rising from the next generations. I think the difference wil be that groups like the Eagles were born in the post-War era when technology was a new thing, when space replaced the wild west and when mas communication modes changed everything. I’s hard to imagine comparable sweeping changes in the times to come and I think that’s what it would take to engender comparable shifts in the arts.
He was two years younger than I am. Part of this bit of the journey, I guess. Have to go.
Good to hear your voice again, Barbara. Stay well. ~ Linne
Hello Linne. Einstein said that there are times in the history of the world that in certain locations, there are groups of artist, scientists that all are born in a window of years and they feed off of each others talent and genius. I feel that many musicians are genius and we were lucky enough to be born in the 1950’s and grew up when they did. I love all kinds of music but the soundtrack of my life is rock and it definitely effects me and my mood. Hugs, Barbara
