Because I am also appalled by the cruel violence happening against women I had to share this.

Iamforchange's Blog

This is without a doubt the one post I wish to share.

I am an avid reader of blogs and books as well as anything that may enrich my mind, heart and soul. I had recently written a post on the Women and Girls roles in a changing Global society. A fellow blogger had stopped by and shared a like on my post. I visited her page and have had the profound desire since reading it to share my thoughts.

Her post was one of a very heart felt nature to me and should be to all of Mankind it was about the torture and mutilation of one of our greatest treasures “Women and Girls”. As I read this post I was reminded of a movie the hardest movie for me to sit through and in fact it took three times for me to finish watching it I was so…

Creation by Walt Whitman

The beauty of Creation

The beauty of Creation

Laws For Creation

“Laws for creations,
For strong artists and leaders, for fresh broods of teachers and
perfect literats for America,
For noble savans and crooning musicians.

All must have reference to the ensemble of the world, and the compact truth of the world,
There shall be no subject too pronounced–all works shall
Illustrate the divine law of indirections.

What do you suppose creation is?
What do you suppose will satisfy the soul, except to walk free
and own no superior?
What do you suppose I would intimate to you in a hundred
ways, but that man or woman is as good as God?
And that there is no God any more divine than Yourself?
And that that is what the oldest and newest myths finally mean?
And that you or any one must approach creations through such laws?”

——Walt Whitman, Laws for Creation

I found that I am so upset that I had to rely on Whitman’s words because mine  must not leave my lips. Not only was another child shot but there wasn’t hardly any news coverage. I guess the story didn’t bleed enough. It is just so wrong. I felt Whitman only could say the right words.

We must stop the shooting and the violence

We must stop the shooting and the violence

And again, A Fourteen Year Old Shot Outside an Atlanta Middle School

He is my brother

He is my brother

Well there has been another shooting in Atlanta. I watched them put a child on a gurney and the ambulance racing to the hospital with lights whirling and sirens screaming.Screaming is the perfect sound to describe the loss of another child to gun violence. My heart trembles and my hands don’t want to type. Again, a child has been shot in the head at school. AGAIN ! AGAIN ! What is wrong with our society?

Fourteen year old killed

Crime Scene Tap at Atlanta School

Crime Scene Tape at Atlanta School

The news anchors say another child brought the gun to school and shoot the other child who is in hospital and still alive. The child remains in hospital.  Lest we think it is just our children, a Texas Assistant District Attorney was shot. The police are still looking for the assailant.

Dear Kitty. Some blog

Part of the propaganda of NATO country governments to sell their “humanitarian” wars to their subjects is to claim that the bloody wars are “for women’s rights”.

Supposedly George W. Bush invaded Iraq, with over a million dead people, millions of wounded people and four million refugees as results, “for Iraqi women’s rights”. In fact, the situation for women in Iraq now is very much worse than before the 2003 invasion.

Supposedly, first George W. Bush, later other NATO governments, invaded Afghanistan “for Afghan women’s rights”. In fact, the new pro NATO regime in Kabul proved to be as misogynistic as their Taliban predecessors, in some cases even worse. Contrary to ads paid by Dutch taxpayers telling Dutch TV viewers to join the air force “to help Afghan girls go to school”, in fact not one Afghan girl more went to school as a result…

Another voice for us to add to the guns conversation.

The Fifth Column

What Gabby Said

Former Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot in the head two years ago this month in a shooting that also left six of her constituents dead, including a nine year-old girl. In the wake of the Newtown gun massacre, Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, founded Americans for Responsible Solutions, a group that “will encourage elected officials to stand up for solutions to prevent gun violence and protect responsible gun ownership.”

Today the Senate Senate Judiciary Committee, which is expected to begin formal work on a gun violence prevention bill in the next month, held a hearing that opened with a statement from Giffords. Giffords told the senators that “the time is now,” they “must act,” and must “be bold.”

Watch Giffords challenge senators to deal with America’s gun violence epidemic:

Giffords’ handwritten testimony:

BOTTOM LINE: Gabby Giffords is right. Americans are counting on our political leaders to…

I am also inspired.

Wise Counsel

I am inspired!
Yes, I am inspired.
It may surprise you to know that at this moment, my inspiration is neither from a beautiful picture nor an amazing speech.
This inspiration is neither from the complexity of a new solution, nor from how detailed and elaborate a new approach turned out to be.
I am neither inspired by an advancement in technology nor a new skill/technique in generating money.
I am inspired by the few words of my friend, Alexandra.
Her words are simple but honest, humble but true.
Inspiration is neither hidden in flamboyance nor ambiguity.
Inspiration hides in wisdom.
Sometimes, the simplicity of wisdom is so humbling.
We seek wisdom on the tallest mountains or in the deepest seas.
We search for wisdom in the words of great philosophers and in ancient books.
Yet wisdom stares at us from the casual words of our usual friends.
