Nature preserves self and gives unselfishly!
Darren Wilson Testifies Before The Grand Jury
Very important post.
We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident
Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown 6 times, twice in the head. The shot to the top of Michael’s head spilled his brains unto the street. Photos and videos show Darren Wilson casually standing and walking around as Michael’s blood flows like a river from his body.
Darren Wilson has been in hiding. On Wednesday, news sources reported that Darren Wilson testified before the St. Louis County grand jury.
St. Louis Today reports:
Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson testified here for almost four hours Tuesday in front of the St. Louis County grand jury investigating his shooting Aug. 9 of Michael Brown, a source with knowledge of the investigation said Wednesday.
Wilson was not obligated to appear, and also has spoken with St. Louis County investigators twice and federal investigators once, the source said. The source said Wilson was “cooperative.”
New York Magazine cites the Post-Dispatch, reporting:

Your Vote is Your Responsibility
Here we are at the end of September. Elections are coming up. There is time to vote early or to mark you calendar with the notation to vote. The Republicans have just unanimously voted against equal pay for equal work. Today, a mom earns $.69 less than a dad earns for each hour they work. Is there a Republican war on women? Absolutely there is.
Women and men getting out to vote is essential this year. We have had a “do nothing” Congress for a few years now. Women need to get out and speak up for themselves. We need to tell Congress to start doing their jobs. We need pay equality. We need to be legally equal. Why is it that so many males don’t want us to be legally equal? We are the only citizens who are not legally equal. It is time to demand what we don’t have.
Now, employers want to be able to deny us the ability to use birth control. If they don’t want you to take it they will not pay for it. Just how many people are you willing to let control your body. Why should some corporation tell us what to do with our bodies. Why should anyone know about intimate information about our lives. We are adults, we are of sound mind, we are capable of making good decisions about our bodies and our lives.
Don’t let our lives be controlled by the government, corporations, churches or temples or cathedrals.
Women need to take back control of the important things in their lives. Getting out and voting is the best way to let America know what you stand for. Show the government that you know what you want and you aren’t afraid to tell them. Get out and vote in November!

By the Light of the Moon… Wolf painting
Inspired by the last supermoon of the summer and my recent trip to the Southwest U.S., I’ve painted a very large (for me) 15″x20″ watercolor wolf. I love the textures and shading. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything in this size in watercolors and had to overcome a few challenges to get back in the groove. It’s been literally years since I had to deal with glazing, softening edges, deepening shadows and unifying color on such a large scale. Fun times! I’m happy with the result. The original will be available once it’s been photographed for reprints.

The Call of Nature
Lately, I’ve been hearing the call of nature. Fortunately, I decided to listen.
I’ve missed my dear friend. During the winter, when nature is in hibernation, I find it harder to make the connection. I still feed the birds, take walks and look at the sleeping trees, but it is harder to sense the aliveness that lies dormant, ready to return in the miracle of spring.
I continue to find both big and little joys in nature. My love for nature started as a child, playing in the yard, finding birds, butterflies, insects and other critters in attendance. I let this connection go fallow for much of my teens and twenties.
And then reconnected during my grand adventures traveling around the country in my VW Westfalia van. During this time, my passion for nature truly blossomed. I was so inspired and in awe of the beauty that I found in our…

Friendship
A late addition to our Friendship post from Juli 🙂
beacon
anchor
mirror
prop
my “you can do it”
and my trusted counsel: “stop!”
mi casa es su casa
as like family, you know you are
we share
we dare
we fight
we cry
we laugh
we scamp
we stride into the world
as lamps
and, whether it’s together
or by miles apart
always
the love of friendship is
a gift of courage
to the mind and in the heart
