It has been really close for the last couple of weeks. For the most part it has been 49-51 to 48-52 in favour of staying in a relationship. A couple of months ago, it was 60-40 in favour of divorce. I personally think it is for the best. There would have been the loss of so many things. National Health Service, banks, some shops, a lot of businesses, the pound.
Like any almost divorce, there is going to need to be a lot of build up of trust again and that will take a while. There will be a lot of resentment too. This is just the start of some problems I think.
Well, it was a democratic vote. I am sure the subject will come up again. I believe that freedom means small countries shouldn’t be swallowed up by larger countries. Unless they want the unity. Hugs, Barbara
