Sunday is For Music

I chose Trombone Shorty because he plays jazz and I could find him performing as a child and then later on as a man. He is from my favorite city, New Orleans. I think he is really good. Ok, perhaps not Louis Amrstrong but perhaps with some more years he will be just as fantastic. I hope you enjoy my offering today. Put a little spark in your day.

It’s Sunday Again!

The republicans live in a world of “them” and us. But there is One World and One human species. Hate is not Holy. Stand up and speak out!

Romancing the Wind

“It is a beauteous evening, calm and free,

The holy time is quiet as a Nun

Breathless with adoration; the broad sun

Is sinking down in its tranquility;

The gentleness of heaven broods o’er the Sea;

Listen ! the mighty Being is awake,

And doth with his eternal motion make

A sound like thunder—everlastingly.

Dear child! Dear Girl! that walkest with me here.

If thou appear untouched by solemn thought,

Thy nature is not therefore less divine:

Thou liest in Abraham’s bosom  all the year;

And worshipp’st at the Temple’s inner shrine,

God being with thee when we know it not. ”

—-It is a Beautiful Evening, Calm and Free

William Wordsworth

I find that on a cold winter day like today, I need to find more beauty in life. There are so many different kinds of beauty.  There is music, painting, dancing, reading, watching clouds, admiring the way the waves wash onto the shore. You can watch an eagle swoop over a mountaintop, and just tell a friend they are loved and appreciated. Some days we just need to share a bit of the beauty of creation and of what human beings can create. This video is my gift to all of you, my readers to enjoy. I hope it lifts your spirits as it did mine.  Blessings to all.

” Life has always seemed to me

Like a plant that lives on its

Rhizome. Its true life is invisible, hidden in the rhizome.

The part that appears above ground

Lasts only a single summer.

Then it withers away–an ephemeral apparition.

When we think of the unending growth and decay and life and civilization,

We cannot escape the impression of absolute nullity.

Yet I have never lost a sense of something that lives and endures

Underneath the eternal flux.

What we see is the blossom, which passes, the rhizome remains.”

————————C.G. Jung

“The soul of the whole of creation is one, the life behind all these ever-moving phantoms is one. Meditation on this truth and the awakening to it will harmonize the condition of the World.”
