I find it very triggering to talk about a humorist who has lost his battle with mental illness so I’m not going to write about this.   I’m practicing self-care by making an appointment with my therapist and avoiding triggers and watching bad tv.  I was, however, asked by a lot of people if I would share the post I once wrote about how the full moon makes me feel unbalanced and more willing to believe the lies that depression tells, and considering we’re dealing with a super-moon right now then maybe reading it will help if you’re feeling vulnerable yourself.  So it’s here…

now you can smell the bark, damp from fresh rainfall

your clothes are sodden, you know you have been here for a long time
hold out your palms and cup them
catch water
close your eyes
the rain has stopped
breathe in, deep
open
you are underwater
swim upwards
break the surface
breathe
taste spring water
float
close
breathe

The bees have swarmed the hummer’s feeders!

We have massive annual swarms of honeybees and lots of bees year round at The Holler. There are many flowers and orchards to keep all the pollinators happy. We want to provide a safe haven for bee populations which are in decline and for hummingbirds as well.

But the hummers are not the least bit happy with the bees taking over their feeders. The bees go after the hummers, and can sting them.

I have to cover up as much as possible to take photos of the action. Of course I covered up with a blue jacket and hood, not knowing bees were specifically attracted to blue, and the bees came after me! It probably would have been better if I had researched this first.

I haven’t seen a bee sting a hummingbird but the hummingbirds are definitely afraid of them.

The absence from this obviously addictive pleasure, has left me with a great deal of time to ponder what the subject of the first posting here would be, after being cleared by my Doctor to resume a somewhat normal life.

Before beginning,  I must take the time to say,  from the very depths of my heart, how much all of your comments and kind wishes and thoughts have meant to me, while I suffered here in the darkness of my self, or medically, imposed prison.

You simply overwhelmed me with your responses.

But, now back to work!

So, what was brewing, or festering in my mind all of this time?

It seemed like nearly everyday for the past week, there has been a story on our News about Water.

The problems with Water are not just local, they are Global, and they are,  or should be, our number one concern.

No water…

singing and dancing in a cyclic chorus
at the altar of God rhyming hymns of undying love
mixed with epic narrations of His silhouette
it was no less than a festival performed…

Admirable simplicty and bright in expression
is the orchestra of believers
healing soul with chords of love…
like a coin defaced by erosion we loose our facade…
no more and no less…
boundless showers transform torn tapestry of Love,
like eager home-bound traveller to peace,
our spirit in flight soars high
as much as the power of our sheer might

And in God’s time all things are made right
my days of burden reigned by confusion age…
raging storm stops and like an angel in the sky,
I lean on you Lord to carry me through…
Filled with peace for Eternal life and cleansed
I become one with my true lord….
in the kingdom above all….
