  1. Maybe some day all women will be equal to all men and to all other women..i hope it’s not too much to hope for

  2. Very powerful account.

  3. I don’t understand why honor killings are so clearly recognized in the media, in England, in Canada, and yet the US continues to insist there is no value in such charges or classifications.
Here we can see the protection required of HV victims. It is real.

  4. Also, honor killings happen to men, too. You have an account of a man killed in the name of honor in your article. Your title is misleading. In some regions where honor is recognized men are not affected. In others, they are.

I so support the women’s efforts for better equality, for respect of their choices…all the more, knowing their fight is much harder than we can even imagine.

And they call that honor? There is no honor in murder. None.

This is where we as a country can exert our power whenever we work with Afgan officials. The western governments as well as individuals can provide funds to promote these shelters, provide lawyers to influence laws.

Anything that I have to say is not nice or appropriate.
