Giving young children guns is asking for trouble, as this example shows.
In Canada we have “criminal negligence causing death” Not saying Canada is better than U.S. but we sure don’t have a love affair with guns . What is it in the American psyche that worships guns above safety, above common sense and above being appalled at the damage and loss of life that incurs? And are there no laws about gun safety? A tragic accident? No laws were broken here? And yeah, I have guns in my house , in a safe, and imagine that ammunition is also under lock and key, separate from any guns! Guns kill and should never, ever be out in the open, and why the hell would a five year old receive a gun for any reason. There are so many things wrong about this whole tragedy.
Can we send the NRA to Canada. Or someplace. How about an island with all of the pedipholes.
I have not figured out the love affair with guns. I have none. Americans and guns go back to the Wild West times. If that is it, I still am not sure if that.

Not GUNS!!!””!!” I understand that there is loyalty to the bereaved family. I am sure they would never deliberately do anything to harm their children…Surely common sense MUST prevail! Furthermore, a gun belongs in a gun safe. It is a parents responsibility to provide a SAFE environment for their children. They failed. They have the death of their little daughter on their consciences. Their son’s life is destroyed – he will always have to live with the fact that he killed his sibling!
When my husband passed, he was a NRA member. I hadn’t even been aware. Shortly thereafter, his subscription ran out and they began calling and calling. I was not in good shape. PTSD was my diagnosis. I told them He had died. They wanted me to have a subscription. I explained I was a liberal and a pacifist and they began sending letters. It took my attorney writing them a letter and threatening a suit to get them to leave me alone. They disgust me and you have my permission to pass the repugnant story on if will help in any way.
