Peace is always possible

Peace is always possible

“Help  me to serve, Thy Cause,

O Spirit of Guidance, throw Thy divine light on my path.

Open my heart, that Thy spirit it may reflect.

My life is changing and taking a better turn.

My mind is still, my thought steady, my sight is keen, my life is balanced.

Harmonize my soul, Lord, with all people and with all conditions.

My body is healed, my mind fortified,

and my soul is illuminated by the grace of God.

Fortify my heart.

Give me a new life and new inspiration,

that I may see in life Thy divine inspiration.

Make my heart Thy Divine temple.”

—Hazrat Inayat Khan

If we would be willing to do this we would save the life of our planet

If we would be willing to do this we would save the life of our planet

Last year, a very dear friend traveled to Turkey. She brought me home a book of Words of Wisdom from Mawlana. I thought I would share some of them with you today.

“The cloud’s shadow falls on the earth: the shadow never consorts with the moon.

“The Divine Love is the Sun of perfection: the Divine Word is its light, the creatures are as shadows.”

“All the wise have said this same thing: the wise man is a Divine mercy to created beings.”

” How shall a berry without kernel become a sapling? The soulless form is naught but phantasy.”

” There are no limits to your being.

Only those you ascribe to yourself.

There are no limits to your understanding,

Only those that are due to trying  to understand with the mind.

There is no limit to your light.

Except the dark shadows of the ego cast upon the sky which we call the self.

Shake your soul! Awaken it from slumber!

The time has come to awaken to your divine being.”

My Sunday Afternoon Present

The beautiful world

The beautiful world

The Rival

“If the moon smiled, she would resemble you.
You leave the same impression
Of something beautiful, but annihilating.
Both of you are great light borrows.
Her O-mouth grieves at the world; your sis unaffected,

And your first gift is making stone out of everything.
I wake to a mausoleum, you have here,
Ticking your fingers on the table, looking for cigarettes.
Spiteful as a woman , but not so nervous,
And dying to say something unanswerable.

The moon, too, abases her subjects,
But in the daytime she is ridiculous.

Your dissatifactions, on the other hand,
Arrive through, the mailslot with loving regularity,
White and blank, expansive as carbon monoxide.

NO day is safe from news of you,
Walking about in Africa maybe, but thinking of me.
