Anatomy of an Assassination Attempt
Happy Monday! Well, we just returned from a road trip/family reunion, and I have hundreds of photos I need to sift through, but thought I’d share this Tahoe sunset to start with.
Have a great day! Do or learn something NEW!
BlogHer 2014, the 10th anniversary celebration of the popular women’s blogging network, kicks off next Thursday, July 24th in San Jose, California. There’s still time to register, and we hope you do — we’ll be there, too!

Human Face Made From the Words, “Allah and Muhammad”
Give to the soil
What wants to rest in the earth
Give to the river
what wants to be dissolved in water
Give to the sun
What wants to be burned in fire
Give to the wind
what wants to be dispensed in air
Enough despair
Enough destruction
Make yourself empty
Purify your body and mind
and
get ready!
Ready to receive
God.

A goddess and the moon

We each have a candle, but we are also the candle. We are One Heart and One Voice. This planet is the only One we have. We can thrive together or we can die together.
My Heart Has Become Capable of Every Form
“My heart has become capable of every form: it is a pasture
for gazelles and a retreat for Christian monks,
And a temple for idols, and the pilgrim’s Ka’ba,
and the tables of the Torah and the book of the Koran.
I follow the religion of Love, whichever way his camels take
My religion and my faith is the true religion.” —Ibn-al-Arabi; translated from thirteenth-century Arabic by Anne and Christopher Fremantle

I know darn well that nothing that I can or did do or even will do makes me worthy of God’s Grace; no matter if I even by some chance may do one thing even perfectly. In fact, I wouldn’t have to work at it to tear up my mental image of myself doing the best that I can — recalling…

in the wink
that is a lifetime
moments paused between
the places
we became –
as spirit learned
of music we’ve forgotten
the beauty of the dance
times
we swore
some other
to return
without a map
for making –
to places we exist
a warmth
that is the sun
against our night
seasons robbed of color
constellations
turn in time –
breathless complication
of our easing into
flight
a day
a week
eternities –
tree steps and backward two
turning
gently turning
to the waltz of falling leaves
touching on
a memory
reminders why
we came –
to wake again this wonder
left the soul to grieve
