Chinese Firms Are Exporting ‘Torture Devices’ to Africa
Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes: do these mainstays of Fall fill your heart with warmth — or with dread?
The beautiful serene pictured above is a great representation of the kind of autumn I’m accusation to in the Northeast of the US. The color change from summer green to exploding vibrant colorful oranges, browns, and yellows is natures signal that winter is not far behind.
But I no longer live in that part of the country where this time of the year would bring me to planting spring bulbs, flowers, checking the leaf blower, purchasing about 200 large lawn leaf bags, and maybe getting a new leaf rake. I would pay someone to just cut the grass and move the leaves to a place that I would collect 50-80 of bags of leaves every two weeks from Oct to Thanksgiving with the last leaf collection in the spring. Oh, yeah…

I have seen a few things lately talking about child abuse and how the abusers shouldnt be dealt with aggressively, but they need to be counseled and that they only do it because they themselves were abused.
That makes me so mad, i mean maybe they were abused but that doesn’t mean they must become abusers themselves, there is only one word that describes a parent who would harm their child, evil.
I was abused as a child in every way imaginable physically, sexually, emotionally, i went without food for days at a time and had to steal to feed my younger sister, so i know what it means to suffer, but i would never, could never hurt my children or any child, in fact because of what i went through i am very emotional about a childs feelings and well being, i have no problem at all stepping in…

There is an ancient Greek myth of the woman who wanders into the waters of the River Styx where Charon, the guide, was to take her to the region of the departed spirits. Charon reminded her that she could drink of the waters of Lethe and thereby forget all the anguish she had experienced in life.
She said, “I will forget how I have suffered.” Charon replied, “You will forget how you rejoiced.” The woman challenged, “I shall forget my failures.” Charon reminded her, “And also your victories.” Again she said, “I shall forget all of the painful memories of life.” Charon countered, ” You will also forget all the loving and joyful memories of life.”
In silence the woman meditated, and ultimately elected not to drink the waters of Lethe. She chose to retain her memories of sadness, of loss and tribulation, rather than surrender the loving memories of her life as well. —told by Rabbi Steven Carr Reuben

Who Made the World
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean—-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done”
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?

“Activism pays the rent of being alive and being here on the planet—If I weren’t active politically, I would feel as if I were sitting back eating at the banquet without washing the dishes or preparing the food. It wouldn’t feel right.” —Alice Walker
“The question is not, “If I stop to help this man in need, what will happen to me?” If I do not stop to help the sanitation workers what will happen to them?” That’s the question.” —Martin Luther King Jr.
” It is only in assuming full responsibility for our world, for our lives and for ourselves, that we can be said to live really for God.” —Thomas Merton
“I cannot imagine better worship of God than that in His name I should labor for the poor.” —Mahatma Gandhi
looking at you
I search
wind in my hair
gently assures
in your eyes
I’m trying to see
a true reflection of me
in space between us
I notice
shadows of clouds
and rain drops
on my window
changing their shapes constantly
your eyes
in there
I learn how to accept
the perfect creation of
you
me
us
as one
it shouldn’t be hard
time stops
in there
I give you a gift
my own happiness
please take it
just like that
in space between us
aroma of chamomile tea
mixed with
an orange peel
in you
in these reflecting eyes
I let my heart
to love
just love
the rest will be fine
